Long Pleat Round Eared Cap

A cap is an absolute necessity for any woman in the 18th century. While caps range from simple to extravagant, the basic round-eared style is commonly found. Made of Irish linen, these are easy to wash and durable. The pleated front linen cap has a moderate caul and a long pleat edging the front and around the ears. This cap is perfect for a variety of hairstyles and sizes. The small drawstring in the back ensures one size fits all.

    Excellent machine-made cap

This is a gorgeous machine-made linen cap and a terrific bargain. It is a nice flattering style. The band is double layer and the seam allowances don't show through the fabric. The hem at the front of the pleated ruffle is quite narrow and perfectly sewn. It gathers in the back with a tiny tape inside a tiny casing. Very impressive quality! My only gripe is that the caul is larger than I prefer (I don't do a very big hairstyle). I will probably cut down and resew the caul at some point but I'm in no hurry, it's beautiful as is.
