The right coat can change a whole outfit. Nearly every 18th century man would have worn a coat over his waistcoat to be properly dressed. This is appropriate for any middle and upper middle class impression in the later part of the 18th century. The collar and cuffs on the sleeves add a level of refinement, taking it a step up in class from our other 1770s civilian coat. Made of a medium weight wool, this can be worn for the majority of the year.

Great coat but I had to shorten the sleeves about 4 inches. It was easy to remove the cuffs, shorten the length and reattach the cuffs and buttons.
The coat was very well made, unfortunately it did not fit. I previously purchased a Civilian Jacket size 60 that fits perfectly and true to size. The Frock Coat size 60 ran several sizes too small and I was unable to button it.
Wonderful. I was not expecting it to be lined. Was a bit tight...perfect incentive for me to loose a few pounds. I am glad I ordered from Samson. I have an opportunity to wear it in public in two weeks....can't wait. Thank you
