Sturdy wool shoes like these are a comfortable choice for any middle-class impression. Each one is carefully crafted by hand out of durable sheep's wool fabric with a hard leather sole for the utmost durability. Fabric, particularly wool, women's shoes were very common in the 18th century as they would have been less expensive than leather. While the perfect working shoe, these add a touch of elegance, especially when paired with one of our many buckle options.

The shoes are lovely and fit perfectly. I will need to get non slip shoe pads since the soles are very slick. Customer service suggested I walk on my driveway to scuff up the soles. But I will also get the adhesive shoe grip pads.
I shop for interpreters at a historic site with a lot of outdoor, all-weather interpreting. Bought these shoes to try them out, because we find the breaking point of ANYTHING and I was curious about how they'd do. They surprised me with how sturdy they feel, and so far they are holding up great and the lady wearing them LOVES them. The color is an awesome cobalt blue. No massive downpours yet and I think we maybe won't use them in the worst of the salt time (our space ices up extra badly in the winter) but neverless I love these and just bought three more pairs in other colors.
