English Playing Cards

This particular deck of cards is taken from an 18th century deck from England. Notice that none of the suit cards have numbers. When cards were first mass produced much of the population was illiterate, so the numbers weren't necessary.

History Fact: The suits we know today were originally French suits and were adopted in both France and England when mass production began.

Fantastic quality, I could not be happier with the deck. It travels well with me most everywhere I go, shuffles beautifully, and looks amazing.

fun to look at, but difficult to use. The paper is quite thin, making them hard to shuffle. They will make a very nice display item, though.

    Great deck!

These cards are fantastic and a great addition to any camp display. They now come in a box, rather than bundled up, which is great because you don't lose cards in your kit. I also love that they come with a card that tells a little bit about this deck's history. That makes interpretation to the public that much easier and is a great value for this deck of cards. Thank you!
