Low Heeled Leather Mules

  • Mules are low-maintenance and unfussy leather shoes for the 18th century. These slip off and on with no need for buckles or ties. The low heel makes them easy to wear all day long. These mules are finished in a nude color.

Mules

I learned about your store from Justine Dorn from Early American - your products are so lovely and were shipped well and quickly. I ordered the mules: Lovely looking shoes but very uncomfortable. I was surprised since all the reviewers found them to be very comfortable. I wore them for a few hours but had to take them off; I won't be able to wear these shoes. The insole is very hard and has no possible give since the sole is wooden. My feet are tiny and thin so they slipped around in the shoe even with the cotton stockings. After wearing I have a little bruise on the bone on top of my foot and my heal is very sore.

Sorry that our Mules did not work out for you. The foot should never slide around in the shoe. These mules are meant to fit like a glove. If there is a lot of movement, chances are it is the wrong size. To clarify, the soles are not wooden, but rather leather. Like any leather shoe, there may be a small amount of time needed to break in the shoe.

Perfect Work Shoes

I wear these almost every day. I work as a historical interpreter and these are comfy and sturdy. I made sure to scuff the soles to add more traction.
