  • Forget Me Not Shoe Buckle

    4 reviews
These 18th Century shoe buckles are exact reproductions from an original pair that Mr. James Goucher owns, and Mr. Paul McClintock of From Common Hands Studio - named these since the detail looked like Forget Me Not flowers.

Listed are the FORGET ME NOT in an antiqued gold finish. They are solid cast, nickel-plated metal that won't bend or break.

You will receive a pair (two). The buckles measure 2-3/8 inches long, 1-1/2 inches high, and will accommodate a strap (latchet) width of 1-3/8 inches. They are easily attached and removed to accommodate shoes made by all different makers.

    Shoe Buckles

Now that I have learned how to better keep them in place while getting the shoes on they're great. It would be nice to have included where to go to find instructions for how to "install" them on the shoes, it is a bit tricky and you don't want to punch anymore holes than are actually needed.

Looks Great on the Mollies Blue Woolen Shoes

My wife wore the shoes and buckles as part of her Colonial outfit for a Sons of the American Revolution event. She received many compliments on both the shoes and the buckles from the other ladies.
