The EDEN buckles were made after an original in a personal collection, and are one of the most accurate buckle to date!
These 18th Century shoe buckles are exact reproductions from an original that I own - yep just one that I was able to base these after.
Listed are the EDEN in a gold finish. They are solid cast, nickel-plated metal that won't bend or break.
You will receive a pair (two). The buckles measure 2-1/4 inches long, 2 inches high, and will accommodate a leather or fabric strap (latchet) width of 1-5/16 inches (just slightly over 1-1/4"). They are easily attached and removed to accommodate shoes made by all different makers.
These are the first ever colonial era shoes with buckles that I ever have owned. I am attending some English Country Day events in Colonial Williamsburg. These are very fancy and will look great with my dress uniform!
Instructions on how to attach them to my shoes would have been helpful. My very skilled shoe repair guy wished for some information. I am left to google and my own devices.
These shoe buckles are perfect for the shoes I also purchased, they were easy to put on the shoes via some awl-made holes to the shoes straps, and they just complete the look perfectly! They arrived quickly, and are exactly as described.
