Knee breeches were a common pant in the 18th century, and are appropriate for the French and Indian War through the American Revolution. These are made of a medium weight 100% wool with matching covered buttons and fit true to waist size in inches. We use the same natural white wool in the breeches, waistcoats, and regimental coats for a cohesive set.

    Additional sizing information:

The size of the breeches is in inches with the gusset completely closed. To find your size, measure around your waist where the breeches will sit. Then enter that number below to verify your size.

The britches fit as advertised and seem a quality product made in a period appropriate heavy weight wool. I expect to get many years wear doing reenactment presentations. I will purchase more items from this retailer as the service was also exemplary. Dr. J. H. Armstead

    Absolutely fabulous breeches

I'm honestly rather speechless as to the quality and fit of these breeches for the price. I have a pair of breeches made from another well known company in the hobby and I've got to say... The quality of construction isn't as I'd expect given the price one pays. Comparing both pairs side by side these from Samson Historical are just amazing in construction, fit and weight. To which they look much more professionally made and not rushed. Since they fit so well I plan on drafting my own pattern off them to tweak a fine tailored pair. Overall for an off the shelf pair of breeches these are worth every penny and more. Being a hard nut to impress myself, I'm thrilled! Well done SH!
